I think I may actually be a little crazy but I have come up with this idea…bear with me on this one! I have found a lot of people on blogs and Pinterest setting themselves 30 before 30 challenges. They have a list of thirty things to achieve before they reach 30, usually over a year or more. I, however, have decided to take up a ’27 before 27′ which will be 27 things before I turn 27 on the 11th June this year. Even more specific, I have decided that my 27 ‘things’ will be felt brooches for my Etsy store.
Okay…Okay…before you all think I am off my rocker, hear me out. I have to make 27 different felt brooches in the twenty-two and a half weeks until my birthday. That means more than one brooch some weeks. I may not sound like the most daring of challenges, but to me it is. I hope that by completing this challenge I will have got into a routine of making and creating. I have made the challenge so that each felt brooch has to be different so that I learn to think outside the box with my designs. I will have to strive for new ideas and inspirations for each brooch I make. I have set the end goal of having 27 felt brooches for my Etsy store so that they have quality and I will be proud of them enough to share. I cannot scrimp on the details or decide I don’t want to make any more half way through. It will also be the opening of my Etsy Store – and how exciting is that!!
I made a quick chart with some heart-shaped sticky notes that I was dying to use (I am a super stationary geek) Each time a brooch is made I will photograph it on the chart to map the progress.
I hope you follow my journey. I am daunted but excited to start! I will post my progress here on the blog and also on my Instagram or my Twitter feeds. Don’t forget to sign up to receive my blog posts to your email on the right hand side of the page!
What do you think of my challenge? Are you setting yourself any challenges this year?
Meet me for a chat with a cup of tea in the comments (speech bubble next to the blog post title) I’ll click the kettle on!
Wish me luck!
