Hey Buttoneers – Before you read ahead I just wanted to state that I am in no way affiliated with ‘A Beautiful Mess’. I am not being paid to write this, I am not sponsored by them or know any of the people who own or write for their Lifestyle Blog. I just love the App and wanted to share it with you! All photographs are my own.
Wowzer! I recently downloaded the new photograph editing App that it hot on the iTunes market at the moment called ‘A Beautiful Mess’ after the Lifestyle Blog of the same name. I had read a fair few reviews and other creative entrepreneurs had written about it so I am naturally intrigued. I am a faithful Instagrammer (search @racheleliston) I instagram all of my iPhone photographs as I love the square format and the ability to totally ‘save’ a blurry of quick snapshot that you are unable to retake. the square was perfect for the scrapbook (I promise to share soon).
So, I was naturally a little dubious amongst this intrigue that another, similar photograph editing App could satisfy my inner artist.
On a recent blog post (here) you will see that I had dusted off the old graphics tablet and created my own wall art using my own text on top of a photograph I took on holiday. Well this, you see, is why I got excited about the ‘A Beautiful Mess’ App. You can’t take photographs through the app (so instagram is still there for me) but you can add text, doodles and phrases to the photographs! eeeekkk!!!
I couldn’t wait to try it out so hopped on over to iTunes and paid my 69p (also available on Android now!) and eagerly awaited my new toy – i really am like a child! I loved it! It was really easy to navigate around and I found myself playing with fonts, colour and doodles.
I was so absorbed by it that it made me think – what a fabulous way to scrapbook.
I really struggle to keep up with scrapbooking the everyday bits and pieces that prompted me to scrapbook in the first pace. I wanted to capture all of the little things that I would forget in twenty or thirty years time, but found that doing so was taking up the time to make the memories! But this way I can snap away my daily moments and instantly write a caption or quote directly on to the photograph. This would save me so much time when it came to printing, cutting out, sticking and annotating each one – and it would be in a really cute font with a really cute border!
Have that time management!
