About Me

Hello there lovely Buttoneers! I am so happy to see you. Have you grabbed a cup of tea? Great! Here is a bit about me…

My family always said I was a crafty kid, in both senses of the word! From sneaking my sweet wrappers and birthday gift tags in to my cardigan pockets for my scrapbook to sitting on my nan’s big round button tin and cutting out my mum’s magazines with zigzag scissors.

I was a pro at cutting and sticking.

Some years on, after a string of uninspiring jobs I was sat at my desk as a funeral arranger and gazed out of the window into one of my many work induced daydreams.

I knew I needed to get arty again and feed my soul with creative juices.

So I did. I left my job, completed college with three distinctions in Art and Design and the confidence to follow my heart into the creative business playground.

I am a bit daunted by the big kids and am playing kiss chase with my ideas but hope to share my creations with you all.

I have always had a curiosity for craft, a big heart for handmade!

I create fabric collages that take you inside to another place letting your imagination create the story; I also turn them into digital pieces as prints…

I also work with felt and buttons in the form of unique accessories like embroidered felt flower brooches…

Similarly I love to sew and embroider felt petal earrings and hair grips…

I love weaving and creating a story with fibres and wools and yarns. I love to make pom pom garlands and quilted ball decorations for any time of year…

I adore playing with my button obsession and sculpting my own buttons out of clay and grabbing my paintbrushes and covering canvases with vibrant colours…

I really love to illustrate made-up quotes to make prints for your walls, doodling on gift tags for funky gift wrap and hand-carving stamps to print onto note cards for lovely doses of happy mail…

I get excited when I can create unique pieces of art and crafty goodness to make someone’s day or brighten up the walls of your homes. I use my own picture bead coasters in my own home to protect surfaces from huge mugs of tea and coffee and customers have used my French knitted flower hair grips as curtain tie-backs!

My heart is full and my soul is happy when I am using my hands and my creative imagination to make something that didn’t exist before and isn’t mass produced or machine made.

I generally try my hand at anything that looks fabulous and exciting and I can’t wait to see what happens each and every time! What an adventure!

When I am not being crafty, prettifying my work area and creating an art filled home I can be found… On adventures (getting lost) with my Fiancé, scooting around on my pink Vespa, exploring France, collecting buttons or arranging them into coloured jars, hoarding potential craft supplies by plundering around charity shops and bargain hunting at car boot sales, curled up with a good book, making lists (and ticking them off)…

…or sat dreaming about owning a desert island or at least our own little house in France!

Welcome to Eliston Button. Grab a cup of tea and take a little time to explore the crafty goodness.
