Hello there lovely Buttoneers! I can’t believe it is April already! Where has the time gone!? This is the first end of the month that I haven’t got a Photo-a-Day Round-Up to share with you (you can read all about why here) so I thought I would replace that slot with a general round-up and look back over the past month of what happened ‘Around Here’.
Around Here…right back at the start of the month I shared No.4 in my Create 28 blog challenge – Embroidered Felt Petal Hair Grips…I really love this collection, especially since they match the Hair Comb Slides and the Earrings too!
Around Here…I gazed at the beauty of spring emerging around me and taking in the beautiful blue skies that I had missed all Winter.
“…Then my heart with pleasure fills, and dances with the daffodils” – William Wordsworth
Around Here…I found my first balloon animal that I made on Boxing Day. I found him whilst having a studio sort out! Still going strong(ish) bless him!
Around Here…We said chin chin and cheers at a local wedding fayre and wondered “Can we stay next to the free champers all afternoon?” Unfortunately the venue wasn’t the lovely hotel we had hoped so the wedding venue search is still on! (recommendations on a postcard please!)
Around Here… I was lucky enough to be chosen for a piece of the lovely Jessica Catherine Ceramics ‘Jolly Mail’ and received this beautiful heart shaped, lace printed ceramic brooch. I love following Jessica on Instagram and catching glimpses of her ceramic crafty goodness and was over the moon when I found this beauty on my door mat. It made my cloudy grey week shine.
Around Here…I will never tire of these gorgeous sunshine coloured daffodils in my kitchen and buy them every few weeks to make my smile on grey days.
Around Here…I am reminding myself to take breaks throughout my working days so that I don’t burn out (half ten counts as time for elevenses right!?)…and obviously with a big cup of tea and some cake!
Around Here…I’m just casually hanging out in the Tardis. We came across this beauty whilst driving around the Cotswolds! It literally was in the middle of nowhere and we just had to pull over and take photos! I was ridiculously excited!
Around Here…I Finally got around to putting my Cath Kidston badges onto my folk flower print bag 🙂 I love them and am sure I will never tire of floral prints.
Around Here…I thought I had killed my hydrangea in the house move but it looks like Mr Gnome has looked after her and new shoots are peeking through! Hooray!
Around Here…I launched No.5&6 in my Create 28 Blog Challenge with Pom Pom Garlands! They were super fun to make and bring so much joy and happy vibes to any room!
Around Here…My mum came over to my house and we had a mini solar eclipse party with coffee and cake! We feared the worst because of the thick cloud but alas! the clouds broke at 9:44am GMT and we caught a glimpse of the magic! I was so pleased, especially that I was able to snap a few photographs…
..Especially when these photographs made it into not one but two of the local newspapers! I am so excited to see them in print and frantically Instagrammed the evidence!
Around Here…My hair finally became long enough to plait into a side braid and (even though my coat desperately needs a de-fluff) I had to snap a photo. I love this pic of me in the car on the way to meet my best friend for a much needed catch up and shopping trip. The sun was shining and my sunglasses were on! Hello Spring! 🙂
Around Here…I then shared with you No. 7&8 in my Create 28 Blog Challenge…Woven Wall Hangings! I am in love with these weaving’s and almost didn’t put them in to the Eliston Button Etsy Shop! But, as much as I would love to, I can’t keep everything I make, I would run out of room! I still can’t decide which I like the best though! What do you think? Pink or blue? (I would love to hear in the comments!)
Around Here…Soaking in the few and far between blue skies, spotting hot air balloons and glimpsing my favourite – the Bell tower…I love my home town in the spring. I fall in love with it with each season.
Around Here…I broke out of work mode for the day and my fiancé and I drove to nearby Dovers Hill in the Cotswolds for a picnic. It was so much fun and so nice to get away from it all for the afternoon. This view is beautiful and feels like you are looking out across the whole world – until the torrential rain shower comes at you across the fields and you have to run for the car, picnic in hand as if being chased by a dinosaur! I have never experienced seeing rain at the bottom of a hill and being dry until it moves up towards you!
Wowee! I was unsure about how much I would have to share with you at the end of this month. I was a little panicked that without having taken a photo-a-day that I wouldn’t have enough to talk about. I was surprised and loved that I was able to continue to document my favourite moments via Instagram. Future me will be very happy about this!
How was your March? Did you do anything crafty? Did you discover anything new? I would love to hear all about it (and finally settle the pink or blue internal debate!)
Meet me for a chat with a cup of tea in the comments below. I’ll click the kettle on! In the meantime, have a wonderful Easter break,
don’t eat too much chocolate and I will see you on the other side!
