Hello Buttoneers! I have an exciting/super scary announcement to share today! Another blog challenge! Hooray!
Since my last blog challenge – 27 Before 27, I have wanted to do another challenge that pushed me further. 27 Before 27 pushed me out of my comfort zone but seemed to inadvertently create a new comfort zone of making felt flower brooches. Don’t get me wrong, I love making the brooches but the crafty kid in me wants more.
I constantly have what feels like ten thousand crafty ideas spinning around my head on a daily basis…
…and I will never be able to act on them all or even just a few for that matter if I am solely concentrating on the blog. Also you know me by now; I love a good list of actionable goals that I can tick off as I go along!
I have gone back and forth so often over the past weeks over whether to commit to another challenge this year. I made no secret over the fact the last one had me balling my eyes out late at night in panic and worry over the course of it, but on the other hand it kept me accountable. It forced me to keep creating. It forced me further out of the comfort zone of blogging and in to a small creative business that I love waking up to each day.
By trying to achieve goals in another challenge this year, not only will I be able to trial out all of those crazy-pants ideas, but I will be able to figure out what I love making, what’s easy to make and what’s more challenging. I will figure out the kinks in my plans and iron out the wrinkles of my ideas all at the same time as keeping my Etsy shop stocked in an eclectic mix of crafty handmade goodness. This in turn will hopefully tell me what you lovely Buttoneers love and hate. It will allow me to essentially see what people want to buy. I am excited to have different ranges of different products in the shop with a good range of prices to cater for all budgets.
I am excited to be crafting again. I am excited to be adventurous again. I am excited to be wide open to possibilities.
So, my lovelies, my plan is this; I will create 28 different handmade items before I turn 28 in June (I seriously think these birthday challenges help me forget that I am getting older!) I will create a blog post each time I successfully make an item so that I can share it with you and then add that handmade item to my Etsy shop as I go along (I seriously learnt a strong lesson in this when I had to add 27 brooches to the shop before my Etsy launch last year!) It all sounds very simple but I am well aware that I will have to make more than one item a week sometimes to have a chance of completing this challenge, but it wouldn’t be a challenge without a side order of fear!
Wish me luck!
Are you excited to follow another blog challenge? What handmade item would you like to see in my Etsy shop? Am I ever going to think of and make 28 whole handmade items by June!? Ekkkk! I would love to hear your thoughts!
