Hello there lovely Buttoneers! Our house move is still looming on the horizon and by the time you read this blog post, I really hope I have a move date! Ekkk! It is so stressful isn’t it!?
It is definitely one of those times where I am super glad that I am a complete organisation geek!
With organisation on my side, along with the odd spiral into overwhelm, I was able to plan ahead a bit and get this post written and created ahead of time before I have to pack up the Eliston Button Headquarters *sob* and have to some time to get organised. Fingers crossed.
When I was sat thinking about my last year in this little creative business of mine for my Eliston Button is 3! blog post, I got to thinking about how I construct my days. Some days I am super organised and feel on top of everything. I will plough through my to-do lists and have time for a bit of self-care (reading/crafting for myself/painting my nails/flicking through a magazine with a mug of tea) in the afternoon, But how they also very often take a bit of a plot twist and go in another direction.
This generally leads to my brain pulling into the procrastination station and taking my concentration, creativity and general get-up-and-go along for the ride!
As you may know if you having been keeping up with this little creative corner of the internet, I like to pull out a quote here or there to stand out and break up the paragraphs of text in pink (much like the one above) I was tippy-tappying away and wrote about how “Some days I feel like super woman, other days I just want to nap” – This was sooooo true to my days working in the studio that I just knew I had to play around with it as a graphic design to squeeze in among the text. I got to it and soon fell in love with my design so much that I wanted to frame it and hang it in the studio.
It would be a fabulous reminder that some days it is okay to want to crawl back under the duvet, that I just can’t force creativity and that I will surely make up for it on one of my more productive-crazy-pants-organised power-through-it-all days.
As usual this then got my over-active creative thought process to dive down the rabbit hole of Create 30 blog challenge ideas and that maybe, just maybe, I should squeeze this one in and knock out something that I wasn’t really feeling all that creative about. For anyone that knows me in real life, you will know how this process was not an easy one – it obviously meant that I had to grab my felt tip pens and create a whole new plan with diagrams and ideas and chaos to rearrange the rest of the challenge into my blog calendar. Yikes! But, it was so worth it because I am really proud with how it turned out; I love it and think you will too! I really love how I was able to use images of my handmade felt flowers alongside text and hand lettering – so dreamy for my design loving brain!
So, without further ado…Here is Create 30 – No. 15 – ‘Just Want to Nap’ Quote Print…
This print is sure to add a huge dose of soft, feminine colour to your home or work space. It’s beautiful, light colours and its flowing hand lettering adds a splash of fun and vibrancy to brighten up a grey day – especially in times when all you want to do is tunnel under your blanket in a handmade pillow fort or dive headfirst back into bed to dream the day away!
“Some Days I Feel Like Super Woman, Other Days I just Want to Nap” – I think even the most motivated among us can relate to those days where sometimes that extra cup of coffee just isn’t going to cut it! I don’t know about you but this quote totally sums up my life! Which is exactly why I wanted to create this pretty print to share with my fellow super women (who also love to nap!)
Sometimes you can feel like you are the queen of multitasking and you can tick off your whole to-do list before lunch – Other days you drag your heels to work or slump over your morning cup of caffeine with a heavy heart that just wants to crawl back into hibernation! It happens to the very best of us!
I love the beautiful contrast between the bold typed words and the soft, flowing hand lettering that build up the original quote in this print. The soft pink type and the rich, warm yellow were carefully and thoughtfully chosen to compliment the pretty colour palette of the handmade felt flowers in the corners; which subtly frame the words at the same time as creating a wonderful splash of colour.
This colourful, fun print is A4 size which is approx. 29.7 x 21cm. Just like with my other prints, you will receive a beautiful design, printed on to a high quality card with rich coloured inks ensuring a high quality print.
I think this might just be one of my new favourites! I really love those colours all together.
The colours certainly brighten up these dreary, grey winter days we are having here at the moment.
This print will be the talking point of your home decor – I am certain that fellow nap lovers will totally relate to the fun quote and fall in love with its dreamy colour palette too!
