Hello lovely Buttoneers! Firstly, Happy May! As usual, I have no idea how it became May so fast – even scarier when I think that it’s only just over a month until the end of my Create 30 blog challenge and even scarier than that (if it’s at all possible!) that it’s just over a month until I turn 30 years old. Jeez…I’m still not entirely sure how I feel about this but at least making these lovely doses of handmade goodness is a good distraction!
I am so excited to share this next make with you – It was a bit of a labour of love to be honest and took a LOT longer than I had anticipated until my silly perfectionist brain told me I was finally done with the tweaking and editing and general “lets erase this whole section and re-draw it a hundred times so it can look a smidgen different than before but really not enough for other people to even notice” ridiculousness – ahh…
Hindsight is a wonderful thing – as is stepping back and getting out of your own head for a breather when in the depths of the design process…*cough* *Note to Self* *cough*
Anyhoo, I blooming (geddit!? – blooming…yikes!) love this print. I love that it totally takes me back to every time I have planted something in every garden I have had. I love that, even more so now that we are settling in our new home and are really lucky to have a gorgeous garden, it makes me dream of sitting there, mug of tea in hand, dreaming the world away.
This is a really special print for me too as it also makes me think of my Mum and my beautiful late Nan who inspire me to no end with gorgeous gardens and amazing tips and tricks that will stay with me forever…
(Stop sniffing and wiping away something in your eye now Mum!) 😉
This one’s for them and you and every lover of the magic of nature and gardening…For lovers of planting those magical seeds and being patient enough to see the treasures they have sown…
So, without further ado…Here is Create 30 – No. 25 – Wonderful World Garden Quote Print…
“As She Planted the Flowers in Her Garden, She Thought to Herself…What a Wonderful World”
This gardening quote print is perfect for anyone who loves gardening, the great outdoors or even just loves sitting in the garden with the sun on their face with a big cup of tea!
The bright colours and detailed illustration is gorgeously colourful and is sure to catch your eye and add a great big dose of fun and garden goodness to your home decor. Maybe you would hang it in your living room to bring some of the outside in? Or maybe in the conservatory to beautifully compliment the glorious garden you have planted?
Even if you don’t love gardening, I bet you or even someone you know, loves to potter around, taking in the colours, smells and wonder of nature.
This original quote was imagined up in my creative imagination when I had been planting up pansies into terracotta pots in my garden. I stepped back to admire my hard work, back aching, but with a heart full of love and warmth for the simple things in life like creating a little floral sanctuary to relax in – especially when the little Robin sat down beside my flower pots for a while with his inquisitive look!
My Wonderful World Garden Quote Print has been hand drawn and then digitally rendered to give a clean, crisp line and splash of vibrant colour. Your eye is instantly drawn in to the large happy yellow sunshine in the top right corner of the print and is gently drawn to the roses in shades of pretty pink with gorgeous green leaves that bloom on the right hand side of the page.
They are lovingly planted in a terracotta pot in the bottom right hand corner that is surrounded by your yellow handled trowel, some muddy compost and some fun pink gardening gloves. A little Robin is perched on the rim of the flower pot, quietly watching you work and overlooking the old fashioned metal watering can, your sunglasses and pretty little seed packets full of garden magic!
A floral pink compost bag sits in the bottom left hand corner, hiding another pot full of possibility – What will this plant be in your garden?
Typed text and hand lettering is my favourite mix of design and is beautifully framed by the illustrations. Fonts were carefully selected to compliment the flowing hand lettering that curls around much like the rose plant tendrils.
The black text wonderfully brings out the black outline of the illustration and the pink hand lettering matches the inner gradient of the rose flowers. This brings the whole piece together into a striking and cheerful looking print.
This Wonderful World original quote print is A4 size which is approx. 29.7 x 21cm. The print you will receive will be printed on to a high quality card with rich coloured inks ensuring a high quality print.
