Create 30 - An Eliston Button Blog Challenge - Create 30 – Let’s Do This! at - Eliston Button - That Crafty Kid – Art, Design, Craft & Adventure.

Hello lovely Buttoneers! How am I at makes 26 and 27 out of 30 already!? I feel like the last few have flown by and now I’m seeing the light at the end of the tunnel a teeny bit more, but at the same time feel like it’s a bit all systems go to make and complete this blog challenge – I just hope after all of this, I can do it!

If you are new *Waves Hello!* grab a cup of tea and learn all about my Create 30 blog challenge to catch up!

After making 25 different doses of creative goodness and adding those little handmade treasures to my Etsy Shop, I got to a point where I had no idea what to make next, let alone for the next 5 makes!

I sat down with a cup of tea and looked back over my Etsy shop, browsing through each item I’ve made and how I felt about it then while I was in the creative making process and how I feel about it now…

These can sometimes be pretty different depending on the hours put in to a make and my initial feelings (generally overly critical!) and how well received they are by you lovelies too.

I’m pretty sure I’ve said it before, but I blooming love making embroidered felt brooches. I loved it waaaaaaaay back in my very first blog challenge – 27 Before 27 where I made 27 different felt flowers before I turned 27 – *Squeal* I was just a kid! Haha! I loved it when I made matching Hair Grips and Earrings and Hair Comb Slides in my Create 28 blog challenge a few years ago. I loved revisiting them for Create 30 – No. 14 – Blue and White Embroidered Felt Flower Brooch back in January. I love the whole process from hand selecting the felt and the colours, to choosing the centre piece (which usually involves trawling through several hundred buttons – such a chore 😉 )

I love embroidering each individual petal and bringing them all together at the end and securing the brooch back on with delicate little stitches to make them all safe and sound. I love it.

So it became a bit of a no-brainer. Two more embroidered felt flower brooches it was – Which makes me feel way better about saying goodbye to the little felty flowers that made it out into the wild for an adventure in new homes!

So, without further ado…Here is Create 30 – No. 26 & 27 – Embroidered Felt Flower Brooches…

In this first embroidered felt flower brooch, rich purple felt and deep raspberry pink embroidery thread come together to create an eye catching accessory.  It is sure to dazzle and add a gorgeous splash of colour to any outfit with its soft, felty goodness and create compliments everywhere you go!

Beautiful purple felt has been lovingly cut into six petal shapes that come to a point at the top. Each of these petals closely hug six beautiful heart shaped petals that are delicately edged and hand embroidered with a whimsical lace-like stitch that splashes a pop of colour across its deep tactile background. This also gives them a bold and bright outline and allows the finished brooch to stand out, even against a coordinating purple top or scarf!

Each of the petals are sewn together and brought to the centre with an elegant silver coloured button centre piece, ornate with shades of pink, purple and red gems around the outside.

The gems surround a beautiful silver coloured detail and a deep purple stone in the centre which draws your eye across the whole flower brooch to the treasure within!

The heart shaped petal sections of felty goodness are pinched together at the centre of the brooch to add a really gorgeous dimension at the same time as creating a more realistic petal shape.

This purple and pink embroidered felt flower brooch is approx. 10cm in diameter and really catches your eye as a gorgeous statement piece.

The second of my new embroidered felt flower brooches has dusky slate grey felt and bold black accent stitches alongside a gorgeous Art Deco inspired button centrepiece. This felty flower is sure to add a touch of glitz and glamour goodness to any outfit!

Perfect for both dressing up in the evening or casual comfort in the day, this versatile embroidered felt flower brooch will catch your eye, make a beautiful bold statement and look elegant against any coloured outfit or accessory – the magic of monochrome!

The gorgeous grey slate coloured felt has a smooth, soft tactile texture and the black felt centre and embroidery thread beautifully compliment the centrepiece and outline each of the delicate looking petals. Each of the eight petals have been individually hand sewn with a stripe through the centre in black embroidery thread, a further piece of felt has then been embroidered and wrapped around each petal to create a full overall flower and a wonderful dimension to the piece.

Black and grey felt has been snipped in increments and carefully would around the centre to add further texture and dimension.

A glamorous Art Deco inspired, gold coloured button with a shiny black centre was secured into the middle of the brooch which really brings the whole piece together and draws your eye into the high level of detail on the gold coloured section.

This grey, black and gold embroidered felt flower brooch is approx. 12cm in diameter and just like the purple and pink flower brooch, really catches your eye as a gorgeous statement piece.

I pride myself on my neat and tidy brooch backs and want them to look almost as pretty as the front. I hand stitch each brooch back, which has a safety catch bar for extra security and peace of mind. I sew this onto a hand stitched circle of felt which in turn gets attached to the flower part of the brooch to make it more secure and pretty looking!

These embroidered felt flower brooches will brighten up any lacking lapel, hold together a pretty pashmina, decorate a beautiful bag or even be framed as pieces of wonderful wall art! The possibilities are endless with these lovely accessories that you will surely treasure.

I love that each of these brooches are so different. I love the rich, deep purples and raspberry pinks with those pretty stitched petals, but I also love the monochrome elegance of the black and grey one with that beautiful Art Deco inspired button that really catches your eye in the centre! I couldn’t possibly choose a favourite as I think they could be great with any outfit depending on what sort of look you are going for.

Eye-catching and glamorous or bright and fun? Which best suits your personality?

Which would you choose? Which dose of felty flowery goodness is your favourite? What sort of outfit would you wear each of these with? I would love to hear all about it!

As I mentioned in my Create 30 – Let’s Do This! Blog post, I will be listing each Create 30 make into my shop for purchase as I go along. You can now find this little dose of creativity in the Eliston Button Etsy Shop amongst the handmade goodness – I would love for you to grab a cup of tea and explore!
