Hello there lovely Buttoneers! How is it November already? So now that Halloween is thankfully over and done with (shock…horror…I’m just not a fan…Soz!)
I guess you know what that means now though!? It’s almost Christmas!!!
I am, as my sister calls me frequently from about the end of October, the ultimate Christmas child! I bloody love Christmas and I cannot wait to share my next Create 30 make with you!
If you are a newbie Buttoneer, grab a cup of tea and explore my Create 30 blog challenge!
Over the last few blog challenges, 27 Before 27 and Create 28, I had only ever made one festive decoration – my Red and White Quilted Ball Decoration – although I launched it earlier in the year alongside my pretty Pink and Grey Quilted Ball Decoration so wasn’t officially a seasonal item in the Eliston Button Etsy Shop. When I create this Create 30 blog challenge, I allowed myself a full year to create the 30 doses of handmade goodness instead of the regular just less than 6 month format.
Immediately, in my head, the jingle bells shook, the tinsel ruffled and the smell of turkey and gravy…ummm…gravy…*ahem*…sorry I got lost for a minute then…filled my imagination and I got to work thinking up festive ideas and adventures! Hurrah!
I was in my element making these next two instalments of Create 30 and I just know that if you love Christmas even just a fraction of the amount I do, then you will love these adorable little fluffles…I’ve already said too much!
So without further ado, here is Create 30 – No. 8 & 9 – Christmas Sprout Garland and Decorations…Eeeek!!
How can you not love these adorable little faces? First up you can add a super fun splash of festive cheer to your home with this adorable Christmas sprout pom pom garland!
Each little sprout pom pom is handmade individually with light and dark green acrylic yarn before the little googly wiggly eyes are added. Every other sprout in the line-up is adorned with a little hand cut red party hat – some have red hats with Christmas sparkle glitter, some have cute little plain red ones! Such fun!
The overall pom pom garland is approx. 110cm long from hanging loop to loop at each end and hold exactly 11 pom poms – 6 dark green ones without party hats and 5 light green ones with party hats – 3 of the 5 have glittery red hats, the other two just red party hats. Each little pom pom sprout is approx. 5cm in diameter, not including the party hats.
Each sprout is threaded into a hanging garland with red and white striped bakers twine that not only looks super festive – just like candy canes!
The twine is strong and durable too, so it will last for years and years when looked after in a loving home.
A loop is tied on to each end for ease of hanging and pom poms are secure in their places, but are easily pushed along the string to form a smaller garland or to spread them out a little bit more!
How cute would they look dotted over a Christmas tree or hanging on cupboard door handles or even adding festive cheer to your desk at work or your car!?
There are four varieties (I couldn’t pick just one of each colour – how could I leave any of them out!?) First up is this little dark green dose of sprouty goodness with a red and glittery party hat…
This little sprout pom pom is lovingly handmade with green acrylic yarn. Adorable little googly wiggly eyes are added to give him his own little personality along with a little red glittery party hat atop his fluffy head that catches the light beautifully, allowing him to be raring to go for any festive party or celebration you desire. He can’t wait!
Shhh…I’ll let you into a little secret…they even sleep in their party hats just in case you need them right away for a festive emergency or a moment when a little sprout full of festive cheer can brighten your day!
You never know what might come up over the festive period do you!?
I also wanted to make some with just plain red felt party hats too to mix it up a bit and allow a group of them together to not look to over sparkly (is that even a thing though!?) I just love this one’s innocent looking little fluffy face!
Each little ball of sprouty goodness is approx. 5cm in diameter (not including his party hat) and is threaded with a short length of yarn, into a loop, that matches the colour of the sprout themselves.
They from the top of the hanging loop to the bottom of their fluffy little bottoms at approx. between 10-11.5cm in length.
They are a fabulous and fun splash of festive cheer!
If you would prefer a different length or size of pom pom, or garland for that matter (or indeed create a whole new festive idea) then give me a shout and we can chat about a custom order – How exciting!
These little friendly faces are sure to bring festive cheer to your home and become a staple Christmas decoration that will make you smile every year you dust off the decorations again!
PLEASE NOTE: Both the Christmas Sprout Pom Pom Garland and the Christmas Sprout Pom Pom Decoration are for decoration purposes only and are NOT toys. Shapes, sizes and colours of the pom pom sprouts may vary slightly due to them being lovingly handmade.
Time and cheer is put into each one to make sure they all look like happy little Christmas sprouts – What more could you want!?
So there you go and now you know! Aren’t they just the cutest little parcels of sprouty festive goodness!? Even if you actually hate eating sprouts you can’t deny that they are super seasonal and festive. I am definitely going to have to make some for my home this Christmas; I just can’t get enough of them.
What do you think? Which is your favourite colour? Do you prefer the sparkle glitter felt party hats or the plain ones? Do you have a fun festive decoration that makes you smile every year? I would love to hear all about it!
As I mentioned in my Create 30 – Let’s Do This! Blog post, I will be listing each Create 30 make into my shop for purchase as I go along. You can now find this little dose of creativity in the Eliston Button Etsy Shop amongst the handmade goodness – I would love for you to grab a cup of tea and explore!
