So as you can see I was cute! Haha…i’m kidding…a little bit…As you can see I was always an adventurer, always excited about exploration of new things and things that excite me and always smiling. This is somewhat true to me now.
I am always adventuring whether it be in art and crafts or in my life.
I hope to share this with you in this blog, don’t worry I will hold your hand 🙂
I was asked some questions a few weeks back about my work and I loved how they really challenged my imagination so thought I would share as a way of getting to know me!
Who Is Eliston Button?
My Name is Rachel Eliston. I live a little town in Worcestershire in the UK. I am a Crafty Kid, I am
obsessed creatively enthusiastic about anything craft. I love trying out new craft tools and supplies.
I get soooo excited when I get within a mile of a craft store!
I can sense them out with my button senses! Its the same with charity shops (like thrift stores for our American friends) and car boot sales. I swear i can smell out a bargain! I get so excited when I find things I can re-purpose or up-cycle into something fabulous or really useful. I am so into Organisation and Storage too and when this is combined with a charity shop find then my head pretty much explodes with joy and possibility. I collect things too, like vintage fabrics that I always promise my Fiance that I will create something with then one day (but they are soooo pretty!) and of course Buttons, and ribbons and beads, sequins, pens and pencils, printing stamps (not the postal sort) and everything remotely crafty. So where do you store all of this I hear you ask….
Where Do You Create?
Well, when I am not exploring the Button-sphere in my pencil crayon rocket ship I create in my crafty sanctuary. My arty lair. My Studio. Eliston Button Headquarters….actually its in our bedroom…WHAT NOW!!??
Don’t panic…relax. It started off very small with a desk in our master bedroom for somewhere to create my art for college etc….well now it has kind of been taken over by crafty kid supplies and is really an art studio that happens to have a bed in it! Luckily for us we have a big bedroom! I love my craft area and have to have it totally organised and with everything in its place for me to be able to even think about using the creative juices. And the best thing about working form this little haven of mine? – the dress code –
Pyjamas are an essential part of my uniform 🙂

What Makes Your Soul Sing and Your Heart Beat?
All of the above really. I get my best ideas and inspiration when I am out exploring but mainly when the sun is shining…I know, I know, I am in England which is why I have a back-up generator for times of need. This being copious amounts of Tea – how very British of me! and similar amounts of trips to France with my Fiance – They are my favourite adventures! When I am not crafting you can find me in charity shops with my mum, craft stores or coffee shops, Singing to an ear splitting volume in the car along to my favourite tunes or dancing around the Kitchen while my Fiance and i cook together. I can also be found on my Pink Vespa or on Vespa ride-outs with my Dad or Theatre going and generally acting like children with my gorgeous little sister.
All of these things Make my heart sing and keep my heart beating and most importantly…a smile on my face 🙂
Here are a few of my favourite things that I haven’t yet mentioned…in no particular order…
1. Buttons – an easy one!
2. Anything Mango related..its a little obsession of mine
