Good morning Buttoneers! I cannot believe it is ‘Workspace Wednesday’ time already! Where do the days go? I think today’s post is one of my favourites to date and is filled with lots of buttony goodness!
Last week when I was pottering around town I came across this lovely ‘decorate your own letters’ pack in The Works for 99p (now there is a Barry Bargain if I ever saw one!)
So naturally The Crafty Kid in me skipped up to the till with pure glee and excitement imagining the possibilities.
Then, after one thing or another, they ended up sitting on my desk without a purpose (like the good little craft
hoarder enthusiast I am)
Well, today my lovely Buttoneers, was the day I gave them a purpose [insert dramatic movie-style orchestra music here]
Out came the buttons!
Oops! Would you look at that! Darn it, I will have to use them now! (this happens a ridiculous amount of times)
I laid out the buttons on top of the letters so I knew how many were needed and roughly where they were going to be placed.
Then, I grabbed my glue gun, with whom I am having a little bit of a love/hate relationship with at the moment (the glue gun and my fingertips had a bit of a fight) and started sticking the pretty little white buttons on to the letters one by one. I found that it was easier to put the glue on to the button rather than on the letter as it was easier to control. I also realised (a little late) that you have to make sure the bottom row of buttons are at the same level as the bottom of the letter, otherwise they didn’t stand up on their own [insert time to chip each button off to fix this here]
Voilà! I love these letters so much and wish they made them individually for the whole alphabet so I could write ‘Eliston Button’ in buttons! Now I just need to find them a home in my home to stand in all of their buttony glory.
What do you think? What words would you make if you could choose them? I would love to hear them all!
