Good morning Buttoneers! This morning I have a really cute tutorial for you! Hold on to your hats and have a go at making this adorable mini easel to brighten your creative home.
You will need: (Some items can be swapped for items of your choice depending on how you would like to decorate your easel)
I chose to use fabric tape as it is self-adhesive and quick and easy to use, not to mention super pretty!
I measured out a length of tape that was long enough to cover the sides of the canvas too.
I placed the tape along the top edge of the canvas and around the edges, pressing it down over the back.
I did this until I had covered just over half of the canvas.
I then used a strip of fabric tape across the top of the canvas and folded it down around the edges.
Then, I chose a different patterned tape to cover the bottom half of the canvas. I love this pretty floral one and its contrast to the playful pink polka dots!
I love this covered little canvas, it is so pretty but I wanted a little more for it. I played around with placing buttons and wood veneer embellishments on to the canvas before I glued them down to see which I liked the best. I do this a lot to get a better sense of how things are going to look before any permanent damage is made!
I finally settled with a mixture of the two trials and added the glue dots to the backs of the wood veneers to stick them down. The buttons are self-adhesive so I just had to press them against the canvas.
Then, I popped it on to its little easel and voilà! I love this so much that I bought a few more to decorate my studio with! They are quick and easy to make and inexpensive for the canvas and easel set (mine was 99p from The Works) It’s also a great way to use some scrapbooking embellishments on a piece of art for your home!
Isn’t it just the cutest thing!? I would love to see how you make yours!
