Hello there Buttoneers! Can you believe that it’s that time again for last month’s Photo-a-Day round-up!? This year is whizzing by so fast and I am seriously trying to organise myself for Christmas to no avail! The panic will set in soon I’m sure and then I will be a Christmas super-shopper! haha!
November’s photo-a-day was a strange one.
Partly I think because I so enjoyed the creativity of Octobers A-Z prompts which I turned into the Eliston Button A to Z of Craft. Did you catch that one? I loved it, I made a list and all I had to worry about was how I was going to compose each photograph on each day. Bliss. But, I also think partly because I was thrown into November with further house worries and builder problems so my crafty little mind was elsewhere.
A lot of the photographs this month were taken on the go, or from a hotel room or even while most of my house got re-boxed up for the umpteenth time.
However, as I sit here trying to figure out where this last month went, as I glance over each days photograph, I find that actually they kind of document each day pretty well. They tell me where I was or what I was doing, whether it was the everyday happenings of breakfast of a cup of coffee or whether it was spending time away from home while decorators were in and having to figure out how to work from a hotel room from a suitcase.
Each and every day was documented, linked to a prompt, but still a lasting memory of my hectic November. That’s kinda the point isn’t it!?
Isn’t this why I started doing this? I love that I would not have had the time to ordinarily take a photograph each day or even thought about it if it wasn’t for following this challenge…maybe I will take part in December’s photo-a-day challenge after all…
Here is my November…one photo-a-day…
Day 1 – Something Blue – The pretty floral fabric around the top of my make-up basket 🙂
Day 2 – I Saw This – An amazing Panpipe band in Worcester yesterday in amazing costume.
Day 3 – Weather – Cloudy with a chance of meatballs would be a lot more interesting!
Day 4 – Can’t Live Without – My Lists! I am hopeless! If it isn’t written down I am sure to forget it!
Day 5 – 8o’Clock – 8am still feels too early to get up!
Day 6 – Made Me Smile Today – This Vimrod notebook I found in a shop in Worcester! But really do any of us!? Hehe!
Day 7 – On The Floor – Wet autumn leaves and my favourite shoes 🙂
Day 8 – A Place – The kitchen window is a place I like to sit with my morning coffee and look at the lovely sunlight reflect through the pink glass bottles onto my little succulents.
Day 9 – Heck Yes! – To cafetiere coffee and naughty chocolate fingers on a lazy Sunday morning in our pyjamas 🙂
Day 10 – I Do This Every Day – Put on my hand cream to keep my crafting hands soft and smelling beautiful!
Day 11 – A Set – I love this little set of Sylvanian Families Panda bears. You can tell which I had as a child and which are newer!
Day 12 – Normal – Just a normal day in the craft studio 🙂
Day 13 – Letters – I love letters.
Day 14 – For Me – For me, This place is heaven on earth.
Day 15 – Hot + Cold – I had no idea what to take for this one so played around with hot and cold colours and fonts.
Day 16 – After – After I have posted a blog post I like to post another photo to make sure no one missed it! This one is of my weaving round-up from ‘Workspace Wednesday – Weave It To Me’
Day 17 – Cooking – Part of the roast dinner I cooked this evening were these giant mushrooms! Yummy!
Day 18 – I Love This – Egg and soldiers for breakfast in my button egg cup 🙂
Day 19 – Whole – For the rest of the week we stayed in a hotel whilst the painters and decorators were in (again!! Grr!!) The silver lining was that from our hotel room window we could see the WHOLE of Worcester Cricket Ground 🙂
Day 20 – Bright – Bright as a button! These were all in a craft shop in Worcester. I wanted to buy them all!
Day 21 – Shoes – Wearing my favourite shoes to walk into a wet Worcester from the hotel for lunch.
Day 22 – A Favourite Thing – Ikea! I swear we have spent most of our time here since buying our first house! Hehe! I love you Ikea!
Day 23 – I Made This – Sunday’s are for scrambled eggs, mini sausages and coffee 🙂
Day 24 – I Need To Do This! – Read ‘Gone Girl’ now that I have finished Eat, Pray, Love – which turned out to be one of my favourite books ever 🙂

Day 26 – Wall – I love the old photos of my hometown on the wall around the town hall.
Day 27 – I’m Thankful For This.. – This Guy. My fiancé and best friend who makes me laugh when times are tough and I love him wholeheartedly for it to infinity and beyond 🙂
Day 28 – Black – Oreo’s are so good with my morning cuppa 🙂
Day 29 – So, This Happened – The old fashioned carousel at the Victorian Christmas Market in Worcester – I love the guys in the top hats!
Day 30 – I Bought This! – Christmas shopping yesterday! I was sooo tempted to treat myself to the whole shop but managed to resist and just buy some prezzies!
On the whole they didn’t turn out too bad considering my mind was elsewhere. I love that days two and seven remind me of rainy shopping days out of the house and that day eight made me grateful of the little things like the beautiful light through my kitchen window when I was back at home with a cup of tea. I love that Day 12 was a fun behind-the-scenes shot of the start of my Peg Loom Weaving Tutorial and that Day 17 marked the point where I cooked my very first roast dinner (I know…I know…I am 27 and this is my first time…) and that Days 18 and 19 will remind me of our first chunk of hotel stays in Worcester and escaping into the city for lunch from working from our room!
Days 25 and 26 remind me that time goes too fast and I need to cherish the now whilst day 27 made me realise that I couldn’t do any of this without him. I am most proud of Day 29’s old fashioned carousel photo that I managed to snap just as two guys in Victorian dress and top hats rode by – this will always remind me of hot coffee in hand and the smell of roasted chestnuts in the crisp christmasy air and finally, day 30 where I actually started my Christmas shopping and started to panic a little less.
I am excited to be done with November and to start December with a fresh outlook. Hopefully December will be kind to us all and full of lovely photo opportunities…
