Hello there lovely Buttoneers! Can you believe that we are nearing the end of April!? It’s crazy pants how fast this year is going! As you Buttoneers that follow me on Instagram will know, I am a huge lover of springtime. Do you remember last years ‘An Evening Walk in Spring‘?
I love the bright, sunshine happy colours that break through after a grey and cold winter
I also especially love the flowers and smells of spring and wanted to take a stroll through the meadow of spring with you all and grab your hand to run through a springtime adventure!
Oooo, I can smell the calming lavender from here! I love lavender; I have some in my back garden and plan on planting some more in my front garden at some point. Even the area where I live is called Lavender Fields!
Mr Bumblebee loves the lavender too. Did you know that a study recently proved that bees are more attracted to lavender more than other flowers in your garden!? I always like a bee friendly flower, just think of all of that nectar and honey! I love this photo of the bee too, just look at his fluffy little body and delicate transparent wings!
It fascinates me how his delicate wings hold him up from flower to flower. If Bees didn’t sting I would love to stroke their furry tummies!
Peonies are one of my favourites too, they are so dreamy with their gorgeous layers of petals and ruffles of vibrant colour…
…my camera’s macro setting came in handy to capture the romantic haze around the centre of this beauty! It is almost like it is handmade out of silky petals or floaty tissue paper!
Hot on the top of my springtime list is baby animals. I am always on the lookout for the lambs and baby birds from the end of February and think that they are just so cute! This year though, my mum rang us and called us down to her house for coffee to see their latest new arrival…a family of Robins in their garden! This robin has a meal worm in its beak that they leave out for them seeing as they are nesting in a nesting box hung on my dad’s garage…
…but just look at this little guy! This fluffy little chirper is the baby robin from the nesting box and he was happily flitting around, being fed by his parents all over the garden. He was very tame and came within just a few feet of me and I managed to snap this beaut! It was so lovely to see, just look at his downy fluffles on his head!
In my old house we had a few pots of Senetti’s on top of an old well and they looked so surreal. Their bright, crisp white petals and deep stained purple tips are gorgeous.
The petals look like they have been dipped into vibrant watercolour paints and left out in the sun to dry
Here, they look amazing and so eye-catching in an army of colour!
Yellow is the ultimate springtime colour isn’t it! I just love yellow spring flowers with their sunshine happy faces smiling away. Do you remember my ‘Spring‘ daffodil embroidered felt flower brooch in last years ‘27 before 27‘ blog challenge? I now only have one left in the Eliston Button Etsy Shop!
Springtime is filled with so much fun isn’t it!? Much more than the grizzly grey winter days before it. What is your favourite part of spring? What is the first sign of springtime for you? I would love to hear all about it!
I had so many spring photographs that I just had to share with you that I will have to share the rest another day! Look out for Part Two soon!
