Hello there lovely Buttoneers! I am just popping in today with a mini shopping haul that I was very excited about. I don’t normally do ‘shopping haul’ posts, mainly because I don’t often go shopping (buying our house was expensive enough for a while!) and because they are normally bits and pieces from all over the place. However, a while back we went shopping in Worcester (in the UK, for all of my overseas Buttoneers!) and I found myself like a child in a sweet shop in Tiger and in TKMaxx (I think it is called TJMaxx in the US) – So, naturally, my first though was to share with you lovelies!
First stop was TKMaxx where I found some lovely alphabet stickers by My Mind’s Eye, an American scrapbooking supplies company.
I love their stickers and supplies so when I can find them cheap as chips and without international postage, I am one happy scrapper!
These were only £1.99 and you get 8 sheets of different colours and phrases and they are small enough to use in my Project Life layouts (Wowee! Way to go me! – I haven’t even mentioned that I am project life-ing this year have I!? I will fill you in with the excitement for that in a future post!) For those of you that have no idea what I am talking about – Project Life is a fabulous and simple way of scrapbooking by Becky Higgins using pocket pages, journaling cards and a whole lot of fun! Like I said, more on that at a later date.
I couldn’t resist these beautifully packaged organic and caffeine-free teas to try by English Tea Shop, they are super pretty, smell great and were only £1.79 a box – That’s a button bargain in my book! There were quite a few varieties but I chose Honeybush Acai Berry Punch and Cranberry Vanilla Delight. I haven’t tried them yet but give me a shout if you are interested in my thoughts 🙂
Also from TKMaxx, I found this little succulent plant for £3.99. As you know by now, I am also obsessed with succulents, but I never really got onto the ‘concrete stuff’ trend that was flying around recently. This is probably why I picked this little fellow up and put him back down about three times (and hauled my fiancé in to the shop for further opinion – maker I am – decision maker I am not!)
I finally went back and thought about how much I actually really did love him and how lovely he would look in the Eliston Button Headquarters windowsill…
Also, fun fact – He is a faux succulent..A faucculent you might say…oooo, actually, maybe not…Anyhoo, Hurrah! No worrying about watering and making a wet mess in the studio! Hurrah!
Speaking of scrapbooking, I was all jumpy-up-and-down squealy about finding some gorgeous Studio Calico wood veneer pieces, in no other than punctuation marks, including lots of beautiful little ampersands (I am a little obsessed with ampersands – again, another day…another post…) geotags, hashtags, question marks etc, etc – They are soooo beautiful that I may never use them! Does anyone else do that!? I am a huge Studio Calico fan too as their products are always so pretty and well made.
When I find American crafty type pretties over here in the UK for £1.99 I am running to the checkout shouting “just take my money dammit!!”
Moving on to Tiger…Now, bear with me through the excitement that comes with me and Tiger together in a blog post. I am relatively new to discovering Tiger (mainly because there wasn’t one near where I lived until the Cheltenham, and now Worcester branches opened up) Before this I only had Instagram-envy of peoples purchases!
As I described in my TKMaxx part of this post, I was all squealy excited and wide eyed amazed at everything in the shop (much to the amusement of my fiancé who quickly went back for a basket) First stop was this cutie pie handheld sewing machine for just £3! Then I discovered the pink version but it wasn’t until I got home and unboxed the pretty little thing that I discovered the cutest little bag known to mankind – Seriously, I would have bought it for the bag alone! I am yet to try it out and see how it holds up but I will let you know.
I am imagining all sorts of little stitched creations, let alone little stitched details on scrapbooking things, without having to drag out my big machine.
Tiger – Do not let me down!
I also grabbed a pack of the rainbow thread bobbins for the same price because I loved the convenience, the colours and the fact that they were metal bobbins instead of horrible plastic ones.
Next up were some great carving blocks for stamp making – I usually use erasers and the like to practise on as the normal carving blocs get pricey if you mess up, but these were only £2 for a pack of two – which I thought was a good price. I am yet to play around with them yet so, like the tea – give me a shout if you are interested in my thoughts! I also grabbed a pack of silver glitter elastic because, well, why not!?
I have some big crafty plans for that beauty!
I also, grabbed a couple of those gorgeous little ceramic candle holders. I love how this one is in Eliston Button pink! They are a really good size for those little Yankie Candle votive candles you can buy too.
The next internal squeal was about the gorgeous range of skinny washi paper tapes that they have!! Oh my!! I reined myself in and restricted myself to one pack (for now) to see how they stick as sometimes skinny tape gets a bit bumpy or gunky on the reel. These were great when I got them home though and I love, love, love the chevrons and polka dots of this set with those deep and vibrant colours! Win! I most definitely will be buying the other sets over time.
Finally, and not from either Tiger or TKMaxx, I just had to add onto the end ( for my own documentation as well as sharing with you guys) I found the bargain of the year when I found this red Vespa scooter pizza cutter in a charity shop, in brand new condition, for only 99p!! Holy Moly!! Some of you may know if you are long-term Buttoneers that I love Vespa scooters and own a pink one called Piglet (you can find him if you scroll down for a while in my Instagram feed) and I have had my eye on these (normally too expensive to justify for a pizza cutter) beauties.
I was super-duper happy and it’s another excuse to eat pizza at the weekend! (This surely makes it the law now right!?) Hooray!
So, there you go! Wasn’t that fun!? Do you want to see more mini shopping hauls when I discover pretty and crafty things? Let me know! Also, just so you know, this wasn’t a sponsored post and there are no affiliate links – I was just super-duper excited to share my finds! Yeay!
Do you love Tiger or TKMaxx? What have you bought from there that was a super bargain or just plain amazing? What was your favourite thing that I bought? Would you have bought it all too? I would love to hear all about it!
Until next time, meet me for a chat with a cup of tea in the comments below. I’ll click the kettle on!
