Hello there lovely Buttoneers! I am still on the pom pom loving train! Toot! Toot! *ahem* did you catch my Tutorial Tuesday – Clover Pom Pom Maker a few weeks ago? I had so much fun making those little balls of fluffy goodness that I knew I needed to do something with them and naturally thought of you lovelies and how it would make a super fun and cute home decor tutorial!
I blooming love pom poms! I think they add a splash of happy colour and beautifully fun texture to anything.
When I was thinking about the colour scheme for our new bedroom I knew I wanted to go for dreamy shades of pinks (obviously) with mellow gorgeous greys to blend together into a relaxing room of calm and soft dusky hues…
…A sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the house renovations and somewhere to grab a book or take a nap or generally relax away with a mug of hot tea and stop for a minute or two.
We/I may also be toying with wallpapering a wall in a gorgeous flamingo print but we shall see… 😉
So, when I was dreaming up a fun and playful pom pom home decor piece, I decided that soft furnishings were the way to go – as if we didn’t have enough cushions on our bed already! Haha! I didn’t have the time with making and planning my Create 30 blog challenge makes and trying to redecorate/renovate our new house to make something complicated or even to dig the sewing machine out to make the cushion covers myself (tut…tut…) but I love that this is a quick and easy way of using up your pretty, fluffy pom poms and adding a fun splash of colour to existing cushion covers without taking out a chunk of your already busy days or digging into your holiday savings!
P.s. I got my grey cushion covers from IKEA (no surprises there!) and they are pretty big so adjust the pom poms accordingly or keep them the same for a pom pom explosion – Such fun!
So…without further ado…Have fun with Tutorial Tuesday – Pom Pom Cushion Covers…
