Today, In my work space, are these embroidered flower brooches. I am obsessed with creating these at the moment and am definitely going to make them for my Etsy Store. I love the whole process, the choosing of the colours, the cutting of the soft felt into petals, the embroidery thread, the creation of beautiful blue lines on the snow white felt in a simple chain stitch. I love the creative thought processes – stitch lengths, colour changes, width between blanket stitches, the total absorption into one small project.

“Sewing is the new yoga” – Eliston Button

You heard it here first!

I love that the colours remind me of France, of deep blue oceans and white sands and that the sewing of these can transport me straight there. What do you think of when you see them? Wouldn’t you just want to wear one so you can take a holiday without leaving the house? (although you’d probably want to show them off!)

These are just beautiful!!! I have been in a crafting funk and my daughter has been begging for more sewing. I think perhaps we’ll try to muster up something like these this week. Doubtful they’ll be as gorgeous as this but I am so thankful for the inspiration!

Oh wow! Thank you so much! I hate when I get a ‘crafters block’ it’s awful! The more you try and force it the more stuck you feel! I always find walking away, getting outside or doing something entirely different normally makes the creative juices come knocking. I would love to see how you get on!
